Working on some light box photography this afternoon and the toning on the example below warrants its own post. Ingots in my collection cover a range of coloring from bright silver towards chocolate brown or dark gray and every tone in between. No telling what this particular ingot was exposed to over the years but the rich gold tones with underlying rainbow coloring make it one of a kind. It is reminiscent of rainbow coloring one can find on Morgan and other silver dollars.
This is a Type II, weighing 6.60 ozs, with one on the nicest struck hallmarks I have seen to add to its overall beauty. The ingot has no markings on the reverse.
